Miracema-Nuodex turns 65 in 2019. Founded in Campinas, in the interior of São Paulo by the European immigrant Rodolfo Rohr, the company began its activities as a small refining factory for tallow, polyglycerol and floor wax.
In the 1950s and 1960s, business diversified with the start of oil exploration in Brazil. With this new expanding market, Miracema-Nuodex managers identified a great business opportunity and became the first manufacturers of additives for industrial oils and lubricants in the country and exclusive suppliers to the major international oil companies based in Brazil at the time.
In the following years, Otto Rohr, Rodolfo’s brother, comes to Brazil and, using his refined technical skills, continually improves and diversifies the company’s products, which have reached levels of excellence equivalent to those of imported inputs.
The company was also a pioneer in the formulation of biocides in Brazil, opening the possibilities of diversification of the products offered by the company, which started the production of bactericides and fungicides for various applications. Miracema-Nuodex proudly boasts the title of the first chemical industry in Brazil to receive ISO 9002 certification in 1992.
New Times: 2019
Today Miracema-Nuodex is recognized in the market for its solid standards of quality, flexibility and customer focus. It continues under the management of the Rohr family, led by Dr. Otto’s sons, engineers Stefan and André.
